Q: What is CBD?
A: Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of more than a hundred cannabinoids in cannabis, and it’s been well-documented to possess anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, and anti-anxiety effects. Because CBD is non-psychoactive, it will not make you high.

Q: What are Cannabinoids?
A: Cannabinoids are the main chemical compounds made by the cannabis plant, and there are at least 113 active cannabinoids identified in cannabis. Out of all the known cannabinoids, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the ONLY one that’s psychoactive. Cannabinoids work by binding to receptors in our endocannabinoid system (ECS).

Q: What is the Endocannabinoid system (ECS)?
A: The main role of the human endocannabinoid system is to maintain homeostasis—biological harmony in response to changes in the environment. Research initially suggested that endocannabinoid receptors only existed in the brain and nerves, but scientists later discovered that these receptors are located throughout the body and support a wide variety of processes, such as memory, mood, pain, metabolism, immune function, appetite, sleep, stress, and reproduction.

Q: Will CBD get me high?
A: No. This is probably the biggest misconception. Unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabidiol (CBD) is completely non-psychoactive. If you are trying to get high (no judgement!), please do not buy our products. You will be thoroughly disappointed.

Q: Do I need a medical marijuana card or prescription?
A: No. Our CBD is ethically sourced from hemp (not marijuana) and is legally available to anyone in the United States.

Q: Where do you source your CBD from?
A: We partner with organic Oregon farms that legally grow hemp in compliance with the 2018 Farm Bill.

Q: Are your CBD gummies lab tested?
A: Yes! Each batch is third party tested for zero synthetics, residual solvents, heavy metals, and pesticides.

Q: Why 300mg? Is that the magical dose?
A: We’ve worked with top PhD scientists and cannabis researchers to develop what we feel is a healthy wellness dose. The suggested serving size for our vegan gummies is one gummy per day, but we generally recommend experimenting a bit to see what feels best to you. Everybody’s biochemistry is different! Some customers prefer two gummies, whereas others start with half a gummy and see how they feel.

Q: Since your CBD gummies are vegan, what do you use instead of gelatin?
A: Pectin! It’s a streeetchy, plant-based fiber made from citrus fruits. We use it as a vegan alternative to gelatin, which is typically made by boiling cow hides (yuck!).

Q: WTF is L-Theanine, and why do you use it in your CBD gummies?
A: Commonly referred to as “nature’s Xanax,” L-Theanine is an amino acid found in green tea that has been clinically shown to reduce anxiety and improve sleep quality. Sign us up!

Q: What do you use to color your CBD gummies?
A: We proudly source our pigments from fruit, vegetables, and spices (like turmeric!) to avoid commonly used FD&C colorants and heavy metal dyes..

Q: Will CBD gummies cause me to fail a drug test?
A: Similar to how consuming poppy seeds may lead to a positive drug test for opioids, consuming certain hemp products may lead to a positive drug test for THC (since THC is inherently present in tiiiiny amounts in hemp plants—less than 0.3%). Although it’s rare, we strongly suggest consulting your health care provider before consuming any Not Pot gummies if you’re subject to drug testing.

Q: I ate a CBD gummie yesterday and don't feel anything? What's going on?
A: If you’ve ever started a new supplement or vitamin regimen, you probably know the short answer to “How long does it take to notice a difference?” Well, it depends. For instance, if you’ve only recently started suffering from mild symptoms, you'll probably feel better faster than someone who’s been dealing with severe symptoms for years. Results are cumulative and oftentimes subtle at first, so be consistent and understand that taking supplements of any kind is simply a form of investing in your future self.

Q: Will CBD gummies save my marriage/cure the common cold/get me a million-dollar raise at work?
A: No. We think companies that use fear tactics or make unsubstantiated claims to promote CBD are doing a great disservice. CBD is a great addition to your wellness routine, but isn’t a quick fix for all life’s problems. As with any dietary supplement, we recommend consulting your physician prior to adding cannabinoids to your daily routine.
